Tutoring and Summer Learning Games for Better Academic Performance

Summer vacation means a long time away from school. This can be a good thing because it gives parents and kids an opportunity to seek more interactive forms of learning. However, it can also turn into a disaster when children are not given the right guidance and do not spend their time productively. The best thing to do is to focus on creative ways to get your child to learn. You can even use fun games to review information they learned in the past school year so they don't forget it over the summer.

Instructions for a Fun Summer Learning Game

First, you will need to place a plastic chair in the middle of the yard, park, lawn, or any outdoor space where your kids can safely play. Have each child fill a bucket of water and have paper cups for them to retrieve the water. Each child takes a turn in the seat and the rest of the children get to ask review questions from different school subjects. Each child gets to ask the kid in the chair one question. For every wrong answer, they get to throw a cup of water at the kid in the chair and he/she can't move. If most of the answers are wrong, then the entire bucket is thrown on his/her head. The next kid takes a seat in the ¨cool chair¨ and the process is repeated until they all get a turn at answering questions.
